Option 1: LEAP Program

• Program will begin on September 15th, 2008 and continues through May 15^th 2009. After completing a registration form and a form sent home in the Thursday folder, parents will receive a phone call letting them know when their child/children can start.
• Serves students in 2^nd- 5^th grade.
• Only 80 spots available!
• Students with more than 5 absences will be dropped from the program.
• LEAP hours are from 3pm until 5pm.
• Parents have the option of joining their child/children in the computer lab from 5:00-5:30 to play educational, online games. If a parent does not stay from 5:00-5:30, their child/children must be picked up from LEAP at 5pm.
• Monday, Wednesday, and Friday activities are homework help, arts, recreation, and more!
• Tuesday and Thursday activities are homework help, enrichment, and academic tutoring.
• Students who attend this program may also be involved in Lights On After School (LOAS) activities. These activities include CLOUT, Cultural Dance, LOAS Tutoring and more!
• All LOAS activities will be one hour long after school. Times and start dates of these activities will be announced throughout the school year.
• LOAS Tutoring will serve students in 3^rd to 5^th grade
• ONLY. Students will focus on math and literacy tutoring from October until February, two days a week.

Option 2: Chancellor

• Tutoring for Chancellor begins on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 – March 2008.

• Serves students in Kindergarten to 5^th grade.
• Small Group Support in Math and Reading (1 teacher per 10 students)
• Licensed Teachers provide optimal instruction
• Chancellor hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5pm.
• Please pick up more information outside of the main office.
• A “Hands-On” Interactive Approach to Learning!

Oct. 24, 2008 – Deadline for Parents to submit application; applications are sent out through DPS.

Oct. 29 – 31 – Parents will be notified by Chancellor of acceptance.

El programa comenzará el 15 de septiembre de 2008 y continuará hasta el 15 de mayo de 2008. Luego de que completen el formulario de inscripción y un formulario enviado a casa en la carpeta de los jueves, los padres recibirán una llamada telefónica avisándoles cuando su niño(s) puede empezar.

• Da servicios a los estudiantes de 2^o – 5^o grado.
• ¡Sólo hay 80 lugares disponibles!
• Los estudiantes con más de 5 ausencias serán sacados del programa.
• Las horas de LEAP son de las 3 p.m. hasta las 5 p.m.
• Los padres tienen la opción de unirse a su niño(s) en el laboratorio de computación para que jueguen juegos educativos en línea de las 5:00-5:30. Si uno de los padres no se puede quedar de 5:00-5:30, su niño(s) deberá ser recogidos de LEAP a las 5 p.m.
• ¡Las actividades de los lunes, miércoles y viernes son para ayudar con la tarea, artes, recreación y más!
• Las actividades de los martes y los jueves son ayuda con las tareas, enriquecimiento y tutoría académica.
• Estudiantes participando en LEAP también  pueden participarán en “Lights On Alter School” (LOAS), incluyendo –CLOUT, Baile Cultural, Tutoría Académica y más.
• Todos los programas de –LOAS duran una hora después de escuela.  Les informamos los detalles durante el año. 
• El program de Tutoría Académica de LOAS son para alumnos de 3 – 5 Grado solamente.  El enfoque es en matemáticas y la lectura y escritura (octubre hasta febrero, dos veces de la semana).

Opción  2: Chancellor

• Empieza el martes, 4 de noviembre, 2008 hasta marzo, 2009.

• Sirve a estudiantes desde jardín de infantes a 5º grado.
• Apoyo en la lectura y matemáticas en grupos chiquitos (una maestra con cada 10 alumnos)
• Maestras licenciadas dan instrucción intensa
• Las horas de Chancellor son los martes y jueves de las 3 a las 5 p.m.
• Pueden obtener información fuera de la oficina en la bocina de noticias.
• Los alumnos aprendan en un modo interactivo.
• Fecha para entregar aplicaciones es el 24 de octubre, 2008.
• Octubre 29 – 31 – El Programa Chancellor notifica familias a los que aceptan para participar.
