History

Anna Louise Johnson Elementary School was established in 1952.

Johnson Elementary is named in memory of Anna Louise Johnson. She was the first public school kindergarten teacher in Colorado, and supervisor in the department of health education of the Denver Public Schools from 1908 to 1936.

Johnson Elementary School was designed by Architect J. Roger Music and Charles Gordon Lee.
